This website stores almost nothing, and nothing optional without your permission. Analytics cookies are not set until you accept them. If you decline, or never answer, none are ever created.

1. What a cookie is here

Two different things get grouped under the word “cookies”, and it is worth separating them.

Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to keep and send back on every later request.
Local storage is a place in your browser where a site can keep a value. It is never sent to a server automatically.

This site uses local storage for its own settings, and cookies only for analytics, only with your consent.

2. Strictly necessary — always active

These are needed for the site to work at all, and are exempt from the consent requirement under the ePrivacy Directive. They live in your browser’s local storage and are never transmitted anywhere.

Neither can identify you. Clearing your browser data removes both, and the banner appears again on your next visit.

3. Analytics — optional, off by default

If you accept analytics, this site loads Google Analytics 4, which sets the cookies below. Until you accept, the Google script is never requested — not deferred, not loaded and idle, but not fetched at all. Nothing about you reaches Google.

4. What analytics is used for

To answer questions like: how many people visited this month, which pages were actually read, which app pages people leave immediately, and whether a link posted somewhere brought anyone here. It measures how many and which pages, never who.

IP addresses are truncated before storage. No advertising features, no remarketing, no cross-site tracking, no data sold or shared with anyone for their own purposes.

5. Legal basis

Strictly necessary storage — no consent is required, because it is technically necessary to provide the service you asked for. In GDPR terms the basis is our legitimate interest in making the site function.
Analytics cookies — your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Consent is asked for before anything is set, is never assumed from continued browsing, and refusing costs you nothing.

6. Retention

Cookie lifetimes are in the tables above. Separately, the analytics reports themselves are held in Google Analytics for a limited period and then deleted automatically; this property is set to the shortest retention that still allows year-on-year comparison. Aggregate counts — how many visits a month had — are not personal data and remain in reports.

7. Changing your mind

Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Turning analytics off deletes the analytics cookies from this browser immediately.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not break this site — nothing here depends on a cookie.

8. Your rights

Where the GDPR applies you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Because analytics data is not linked to a name, an account or an email address, we usually cannot identify which records are yours — the practical way to exercise these rights here is to withdraw consent and clear this site’s cookies, which removes the link entirely.

9. Changes to this policy

If this site ever adds a cookie, a category or a third party, this page and the consent banner change before that happens, and the date at the top changes with them.
